Hi, I’m Joyce. But I also go by Miu Vermillion (my “artist name”).
I found Angelica Brigade – an independent demi-couture accessories and jewelry company in 2011.
I also write a weekly column for Beautiful Bizarre Magazine.
And, from time to time, I also shoot editorial and conceptual photos.
I’m Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) alumni who also went to college as a Transmedia Art major.
Angelica Brigade (AvaNt GardE Luxurious Inventions by Collaborative Artists Brigade) was established in November 11, 2011 by me, a semi-nomadic artisan/designer who also works as a buyer for an international manufacturing company.
I believe that the things we wear should never hinder our movements & prevent us from focusing on the present, the people we interact with, &/or the things we need to do.
For that reason, I make it my mission to create dramatic & eye-catching pieces that are also sturdy, low-maintenance, & comfortable-to wear.
Some of my designs are available for purchase in Abilletage, an independent boutique in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan.
Emulating Rococo era’s high quality & labor intensive craftsmanship, my works are the antithesis of disposable fashion.
