I work with my hands, and hours of making sculptures and working with metals turns my hands red (with some greenish (veins) accents to boot).

Red nail polish makes my hands look like I soaked them inside of a bucket of industrial cleaner overnight while green and yellow toned nail polishes put my not pretty veins in spotlights.

Any warm-toned nail polish colors & and any color that has some red &/or yellow mixed into it do not work for me. Colors like beige & pale pink don’t make my hands look like they are in need of medical attention, but they leave my fingers to look as overworked as they actually are.

Black and dark blue nail colors look fine on my fingers, but I wouldn’t wear those colors all year round. So, 2 years ago, I decided to mix a dash of my navy blue nail polish with some white nail polish (which I didn’t use for years) … and … the pale gray color instantly brightened and cleared the complexion of my hands, makes my hands look less raw & overworked. From then on … in springs, summers, and bright sunny days … I decided to stick to cool shades of gray nail polishes.

I’m not sure that this nail polish shade will work for everyone who work with their hands as much as I do … so, it’s always best to do a color test before purchase~
